Expanding Access
Pharmacists as Addiction Treatment Resources
Wisconsin’s rural areas lack access to formal addiction treatment facilities. John Lemke (PharmD ’15) and Jeff Kirchner (BS ’88) created a medication-assisted therapy program at Streu’s Pharmacy Bay Natural in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to help patients with opioid and alcohol misuse disorders and developed a partnership to help recently released inmates continue treatment.
