School of Pharmacy Welcomes Two New Faculty Members

Olufunmilola Abraham and Jay Ford

We’re excited to announce the addition of two new assistant professors in the Social and Administrative Sciences Division.

Olufunmilola Abraham (left) comes to the School from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and is the first researcher to look at gamifciation for medication use.

Jay Ford was previously an associate scientist and principal investigator at the UW–Madison College of Engineering’s Center for Health Systems Research.

Science is stronger when it’s diverse, says Professor Christine Sorkness. That’s why she and the NIH are working to diversify biomedical research through the NIH-sponsored National Research Mentoring Network. But their efforts to provide underrepresented researchers with the resources they need go beyond mentor pairing.

The School of Pharmacy is seeking practicing pharmacists to serve as leadership mentors to our PharmD students through the Pharmacy Leadership Certificate and Mentor Program to cultivate engagement with alumni and colleagues across the state. If you can commit to at least one meeting per semester, apply to be a mentor.
